ACTING!!

I was carping to some theatre friends this week about the very "method" approach that the Director of the show I'm in is taking towards the rehearsal process.

I'm a very technical actor. I don't internalize much and actually do little more than pretend that I'm somebody else for two hours. Others immerse themselves in the characters and are quite grave and serious about that approach. Whatever works for you I suppose but I find much of their methodology quite silly and self indulgent.

It seems however that I'm in pretty good company with Sir Ian McKellen via this clip from Ricky Gervais' Extras.

Like I say, whatever works...
