Here's the speech from this morning.

I've been doing research on this stuff for years. Ever since I spent some time in Germany, I have looked at short hop HSR trips as being THE ANSWER to gas prices, plane congestion, cost reduction and efficiency to our regional travel woes.

Here are some web sites that I've become acquainted with over the past few years. Take a look and write a letter or go to a meeting. $8 Billion is a nice start, but this stuff is very expensive and the tea-baggers are certain to fight this at every turn just because it has the patina of "earmarks' and "pork". They're wrong.

The reeling Indians open the new Yankee Stadium in a couple of hours at 1:00. It's a duel of C.C. Sabathia and Cliff Lee. I'll be tuning in.

Secondly, the playoffs start for the Cavs on Saturday against the lowly Detroit Pistons.

Listen, I was always taught never to celebrate the injury of another team or player just because it helped my chosen team advance or win. That said, this is huge news for the Cavaliers...

There is a Subway sandwich shop, a Pizza Hut, a Popeye's, a 24-hour Burger King, two post exchanges which sell an impressive array of goods, four mess halls, a minature golf course and a hospital. The base has a strictly enforced on-base speed limit of 10 MPH.
