Here's a lengthy and spot-on piece about the influence of social media on us humans. The concept of oversharing is one of the problems I do have with Facebook and the like.
One thing I've tried to maintain here in the blogosphere is my personal sense of distance from myself. This blog isn't about me, it's about stuff I like, dislike or things I imagine might interest others. Some Facebookers are using the social medium to primarily inform us that they may have had undigested corn in their stool this morning. Ummm...okay. Needless to say, I'm not so interested.
