Legalize It

The money quote in the article...

"They don't deal with anything," she said. "They never learned how to have fun without smoking pot, never learned how to deal with conflict."

Many of the adults that I know are entirely incapable of dealing with conflict...or having fun for that matter. Period.

Singling out kids who haven't yet developed this skill because they smoke marijuana is unfair. Hell, you could say the same about kids who grew up playing soccer. Everybody plays and we're all super, duper winners!

Conflict and real life experiences are thrust upon you whether you're exposed to soft drugs or not. My thinking is that smoking weed exposes the absurdity of daily existence with a sleight hand and regardless of one's age when that epiphany occurs, it's a good thing.

In any case, full legalization will be a long time in coming if ever.

And always remember, America was founded by both Pirates and Puritans. We're never gonna escape that particular conflict.

Pirates and Puritans...

NONE of whom could have ever reached this "new world" without the hemp used to make their lines and sails.

Diesel designed his marvelous new engine originally to burn hemp oil.

TO say nothing at all of its monumentally usefuf theraputic qualities. Maybe weed wouldn't be so useful in a culture which didn't create so many fucking assholes. But given the sheer numbers of total fucking assholes as there are in the world, and the kind and forgiving tolerance for most of their ass-wholery which THC bestows, it is a good thing I can get hold of it when I need to...

nice buds, btw...
