Hell, yeah.

I tell ya, I looked high and low for evidence that the NY Yankees were actually beaten by a better professional baseball team. But alas, no.

Seriously, scroll down the Daily News site and find one sportswriter giving the Tribe their due. Standard NYC media fare where they're the victim of bad management and dumb luck and somehow, unbelievably, the rubes from the hinterlands lucked out and stole a win.

I also love that the headline of the whole event is Joe fuckin' Torre. I mean, really...who cares? Feh.

Maybe they'll be just as inflated with themselves in Boston where I believe the Indians will have a considerably more challenging task in front of them.

7:00 Friday night @ Fenway. Let's go.

Here's the only article I could find that where the crux of the piece wasn't Joe Torre leaving or A-Rod's collapse. It's from Turkey, folks. Turkey. Rodney Dangerfield ain't got nuthin' on us.

Anyhoo, I think this picture effectively conveys my inner 12 year old this morning. Grady Sizemore is a great baseball player.

This one's pretty good too...

The little Jesus that could

Hey, check out the little spitfire from North Olmsted that wants to take Dennis' 10th Congressional District seat.

He's a real go-getter. And go click on the MySpace link if you really want to git 'er dumb.

Mostly I hate MySpace because of the .wav files that blast at you at inopportune times. Praise be to Vonnegut that none of his musical favorites (Country, classical, some contemporary Christian, Kenny G, Celine Dion) engage when the site comes up.

Same as it ever was

Paul Krugman brings his big brain to the party today. It's nice that the NY Times finally dropped their paid for subscriber service to read the Op-Ed stuff on the website.

It's even nicer when one of their premier smart guys channels David Byrne.

Monkey poo

Dr. Juan Cole shines his Monday morning flashlight. Today he trains it on our feces flinging Corrupter in Chief.

What a world...

I hate the Yankees

Somehow it appears that the only true Yankee haters have to be Boston Red Sox fans. Au contraire, mon freres. There are plenty of Cleveland fans with just as much venom.

Go Tribe and C.C. Destroy those goddamn pinstriped motherfuckers.

Just in case you didn't already have a sickened and queasy feeling in your stomach today, I'm here to provide you with your daily dose of upchuck.

Or at least I can point you in the right direction. Seymour is in the building.

Comix

Here's a good one from local boy, Derf. If you click on it, it'll get bigger, (that's what she said).

Good one

I've read this guy before and he's never been better than this post. He's just gotten back to the States this past month.

The Numbers Band

I went solo to the Beachland to see 15-60-75 last night. It was Bob Kidney's 60th birthday celebration. While the show was rather sparsely attended in my opinion it was still a very cool evening.

The highlight came during the second set when the band was comprised of Bob, Jack and Terry being joined by Chris Butler on bass, Scott Krauss on drums and the still unbelievable Mike Stacey on the very same Telecaster he is still playing from 30 years ago.

They launched sequentially into a triple threat of tunes consisting of Jimmy Bell, About the Eye Game and The Animal Speaks that truly was not be believed.

If you missed it, you missed something special. I was there and am glad of it.

Fire up the Tivo boys!

Spoon plays SNL a week from Saturday.

In the meantime, I reckon you can satiate your buds with this tasty clip from a couple of weeks ago when they were on Jay Leno's lame ass show.

Miserable failure

Oh, I suppose some folks will defend Bush and say that it's only natural that someone would need "fone-etic" help in pronouncing the hard words that go into a speech, particularly one at the U.N.

Well, not me.

Listen, anybody who doesn't know how to pronounce Robert Mugabe's name AND is the President of the United States is an idiot. Ergo, Bush is an idiot.

Here endeth the lesson.

I'm Bitter

And you want to know why? Because it's 9:00 EST and I figure Nick Lowe is just this minute walking onto the stage at The Ark in Ann Arbor and I'm not there.

Nobody comes to Cleveland lately. Nobody.

Not even Wilco...just ask Mr. B. from West Park.

Compassionate Conservative

Ya know I always wondered what that phrase actually meant. And now here we have a Republican DOJ Attorney to help with the definition.

Sorter version...I guess compassionate conservatism is when you don't produce vaginal tearing while raping 5 year old girls.

Read the story.

I swear, the next person who tells me that they're a registered Republican, I'm going to have remember to ask them what is the best kind of lube to use whilst skull fucking infants. It'll be a nice icebreaker at my next cocktail party or freshman mixer.
