Power Pop


Steve Simels over at PowerPop mourns the loss of Larry Knechtel.

As a session man for many years, Larry Knechtel played on nearly every quality popular song of our generation and Steve makes some nice notes on what some of those hits were.

Weird-- I noticed this last week and almost sent you something about it. Really impressive career. I even saw him play with Elvis in Chicago once.

The Grim Reaper's certainly been bizzy this summer. Glad Knechtel's not totally lost in the shuffle. He certainly had his imprint on more and arguable better music than the King of Pap...
