Herb Score

The greatest pitcher ever to wear a Tribe uniform passed away today. He was 75 and had been in pretty bad shape after a bad car accident several years ago.

Of course, many of us knew him better as the voice of the Indians during those grim seasons throughout the 70's and 80's.

R.I.P.

Wow... that's sad. He was hardly the smoothest talker, but I liked and still miss him. I remember the 7th game of the '97 Series (which was his last) I turned the sound down for the last inning and listened to him call it.

A great guy and a really unique and different kind of untrained play by play. I fell in love with baseball during the grim 70s and 80s of Cleveland baseball, and Herb was always excellent, and told it like it wasn't.
